Introducing…Souling

Please tell us a little about your business and the book?

Souling as a business supports people on a healing and growing journey to experience their innermost selves. We do that through events, one-on-one Souling Sessions, content and collaborations. Our mission is to support people to discover the truth of who they are.

Book Blurb:

Soul is not just a noun; it’s also a verb. According to author Natasha Ritz, souling is the action we must take to unearth and experience the depths of our being.

In writing as bold as the journey she describes, Ritz hopes to provide readers with resonant nuggets that empower their self-discovery and expression. This journey is not for the faint of heart; it’s for the fierce of heart. Expect swearing and lots of it.

Are you ready to embrace curiosity and dive into the unknown to uncover the truth of who you are? Are you prepared to explore heartbreak, death, therapy, ego, awareness, resistance, suffering, sex, kink, tantra and beyond? Join Ritz on this transformative adventure and discover the inexhaustible love tap that pours from your heart.

What was your motivation to write your first book?

I always wanted to write a book and I started writing Souling in Bali in November 2022. It was a bit of an Eat Pray Love moment. I had just come off the back of a tantra course and was journalling, really digging into myself, opening wounds and letting it all hang out. I wrote every single day for 21 days, and when I came back home to Sydney, I felt like I had a bit of a theme coming through, so I sent it off to a friend who is an editor and asked her for her honest feedback. She told me it had legs but needed some structure. She helped me build out this structure, and then I wrote almost every day for a year.

At first, it was about purging my own stuff, and then, as I was pulling it all together, it became about how it could possibly really help people. It’s a really raw and real set of stories, ideas, themes and modalities that I talk about from my own experience. I then hand it over to the reader to consider with curiosity how this concept fits (or doesn’t) within their lives. At the end of every chapter, there’s a journal prompt, a mantra, a list of resources, and a QR code for a Spotify playlist.

What is your biggest piece of advice for a woman wanting to write her first book?

My biggest piece of advice for any woman wanting to write a book is to use a concept called Massive Action coined by Kara Loweinthiel. It’s this idea that if we make an effort for even one minute a day, that’s 365 minutes of work you’ve put towards that thing in a year’s time. So, with that in mind, if you write for 5 to 20 minutes every day at a scheduled time, over a few months or a year, you’ll have a really great body of work. The best thing you can do is to just start, no matter how small.

What is your favourite thing about having your own business?

The flexibility, the freedom, the creative process, the expression, the connections and the amazing people you get to meet along the way. It’s such a privilege to have a business.
